Who did we work with?
GenTeal Apparel is a premium men’s apparel brand based in Oxford, Ms. The brand has seen remarkable growth during the past few years, and it was recently named one of the fastest growing brands in America and placed on the prestigious Inc 5000 list.
What was the challenge?
GenTeal needed a foundation that would anchor its brand and drive sustainable success. The brand had a unique story to tell, but it was important to build a framework that could help drive success.
What was our strategy?
Team Trestle led the GenTeal leadership group through our Strategic Storytelling process that included stakeholder interviews with board members and partners, a collaborative ideation session with its leadership team and focused research on peer marketing, audience insights and more.
We worked to identify the brand character of GenTeal, its customers, and opportunities to connect them. This enabled us to prepare an integrated communications plan that was anchored by a brand tagline and a trio of storytelling pillars.

How’d we do?
Our initial strategy was accompanied by activation opportunities spanning GenTeal’s engagement with wholesalers, consumers and more. These included the reimagination and ongoing editorial management of its consumer catalogs, the development and management of Embark, its storytelling blog, and the development of activation opportunities for various trade shows.
Even more, we maintained consistent collaboration with GenTeal by providing consulting on creative strategy for photo shoots, original videos and on-site engagements with consumers. These efforts have lengthened the brand’s scope for their campaigns, allowing them to pursue the overarching narrative of subtle, quiet luxury.
“It’s hard to put this into a short statement, but we recently went through a pretty traumatic event with the collapse of our warehouse. There are other outside agencies we work with that panicked and made recovery efforts more difficult, but then there are people like Johnathan who repeatedly offered ways to help, whether it be with payment terms, or strategically thinking about how we communicate with our customers during and after this event. We feel incredibly fortunate to work with Trestle Collective for their expertise, but also because I know they truly care about the well-being of our team and our brand.”

The Results
“The results speak for themselves: within the first 6 months of our partnership, our business saw a 145% YoY increase in sales. From the very beginning, team Trestle has been attentive, responsive, and genuinely invested in our success.”
AS SEEN IN THE ATHLETIC
“After working with Trestle Collective for the last year, it is hard to imagine a time when they weren’t part of our team. There was an immediate shift in our marketing execution once we brought their team on board. The Trestle team has been there for us, both personally and professionally, during a time that has been extremely challenging for our company.
Our company’s building and home base collapsed during a winter storm late on a Monday evening, and within minutes, the Trestle team jumped into action and devised and executed a PR strategy that guided us through effective communications with our customers. Aside from assisting with the unexpected, I cannot overstate the impact our partnership with Johnathan and his team has had on our business. Their expertise and dedication to optimizing our processes have been nothing short of transformative.”
